When new clients reach out to us about personal shopping they are always full of questions, understandably. Is working with a professional image consultant the right service for them? It is an intimate process and involves monetary investment. The SECRETS to Becoming a Professional Fashion Designer

PURSUING YOUR DREAM JOB TAKES COURAGE

Pursuing your dream job that is an artistic venture is a usually an uphill battle for most. The market is filled with talented artists who want to succeed and the competition is fierce. Designers, actors, musicians, painters, singers, animators, etc...These are the kinds of jobs that everyone wants. People aren't doing 'whatever it takes' to be an administrative assistant.

My whole life has been nothing but artistic careers. I modeled in New York. Acted in Los Angeles. I'm now writing a book. And I've had the good fortune to be a personal stylist and image consultant for well over a decade. It's not easy, but I will tell you that it is fulfilling, fun, and worth the massive amount of effort to succeed at it.

YOU NEED PROPER TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE TO SUCCEED

But it's not enough just to have the gumption to jump in. You have to be trained. You must be skilled. If you want a long career, that is. And that is what trips up so many. With these kinds of jobs, people just don't know where to start. It's overwhelm time.

We get a lot of questions from people who want to design, even though we are not designers. Actually, two of our personal stylists are designers but that's a different story. I guess because we work in the world of fashion, people assume it's all the same.

Personal styling and designing clothes are two very different careers. If you want to be a personal stylist or image consultant, then we can definitely help you out. Just click here to learn how to be a personal stylist.

HOW TO LOOK RICH FOR CHEAP

One of the biggest goals of most of our style clients is not, necessarily, to look rich. It's to look attractive. To look powerful, competent, and refined for business. To look and feel handsome or stunning, personally. It just happens to be that, in order to achieve these style goals, we have found that most clothing tastes, accessories, and jewelry that accomplish these end goals generally tend to look, well...rich.

But you don't need to be wealthy to be able to find pieces that look wealthy. You just need to know what makes rich people, and you, look rich.

HOW TO ATTRACT WOMEN

A single insightful comment or a few chivalrous gestures can really impress a woman. One rude statement, however, or a moment of careless behavior can end in date Armageddon.

Most women can gauge pretty quickly whether they want to see you again.

Here are 12 tips on how to attract women. Whether you're on a first date or celebrating your 10th wedding anniversary, these will help spark (or re-spark) the attraction and maintain it.

Remember, a woman's attraction for you is not coming from just one thing you do, it comes from everything you do.

HOW TO IMPRESS YOUR HUSBAND

Do you feel like your husband or boyfriend no longer compliments you or makes the effort he once made when you two were first dating?

Do you worry that settling into married life or a long-term relationship has permanently decreased the romance, affection, and googly eyes that your guy once had for you?

A close friend of mine, Isla, has been with her husband for almost 10 years. They have a ridiculously passionate marriage. Her secret? She does what so many women are not willing to do.

What is it? Here are 10 actionable steps she uses that you can do today to impress your husband or boyfriend.

WHICH CLOTHES COLORS SUIT YOUR SKIN TONE?

Why colors look great on one person and not so great on another is a person's unique skin tone. Some colors (like pink) can flatter almost anyone because they come in many shades. Others (like catawba) are very specific to certain skin tones.

So let's explore skin tones a little deeper using the "seasons" scale and guide you on the best wardrobe colors for you based on your hair, eye color, and skin tone.

Summer and winter are the cool skin tones, while spring and autumn are the warm ones. Again, this scale is not about how pale or dark you are. This scale is based on your undertones and establishes if you are a warm type or a cool type.

Don't be imprisoned by your color palette...
