We Offer Something No Other Styling Company Does
Every Shopping Friend client works with a team of at least two expert personal stylists / image consultants. Two stylists focused on your needs and image goals. Every step of the way we are bouncing ideas off each other and refining and customizing the process to meet your specific wardrobe and image needs. No one else offers that.
At the start, you will consult with the founder of the company, Michelle, so she can get to know you and determine your image needs. You will then work with your dedicated personal stylist for your style sessions. In the background, Michelle and your personal stylist will be discussing and planning the best course of action for you during the entire process. You will always have complete access to both stylists if you have any questions.
Choosing Your Stylist
Personal styling and image consulting are very intimate services. These consultants may work in your home, spend hours with you, and handle a very sensitive area of your life. We want you to have a wardrobe consultant who 'gets' the style you want to achieve and your personality. We work with you to determine which of our personal stylists will compliment you the best. Through emails, conversations, your style boards, and questionnaires, we pair you with the right stylist.
What Kind of Style You Should Expect
All our image consultants are expert at styling any body type and personality. They do not style you according to their own personal style but according to yours. They style you according to the goals you communicate to them, your tastes, your budget, and your lifestyle. Effective and clear communication with your personal stylist is key to achieving the wardrobe and image that you love.

I teach my clients how creating their own unique, flattering, individual style is not only enlightening, but artistic and fun. Style isn't all there is either. Increased confidence, self esteem, and clear body language communications are helpful in life. Poise, elegance, and the ability to self-assuredly walk into a room and command attention is a valuable skill to possess.
Over the last fifteen years, I’ve worked with hundreds of professional stylists for fashion shoots, television, and film. I have gleaned valuable tips from every single one of them. You learn a lot about fit and style when you wear every kind of outfit under the sun! Learning how to dress attractively for your body type, choose pieces that fit well, and create an outfit that is authentically you is empowering and a profitable investment.
Your style is an expression of how you feel, who you are, and even where you want to go in life. You've heard the mantra, "dress for who you want to be, not who you are"? There's a lot of truth behind that statement.
A holistic element exists between your outer-self expressing your inner-self authentically. When you are in harmony with clothes that look and feel good on you, and they are expressing your truth, you will love what you're wearing.

I was modeling for Glamour Magazine when I was approached by one of the producers looking at my portfolio. She asked me who styled one of the shoots in my book. I said it was me. She then asked me to style for her personally. My first client! She ended up referring me to her husband, then a friend, and a business was born!

Kristin is based in Los Angeles. After years of being styled for fashion shoots, fit modeling jobs, and runway shows, she quickly learned how to put fashionable outfits together with ease adding to her already natural talent of choosing beautiful, stylish pieces. Her passion for fashion and her love for styling, turned into a job at one of the leading Fashion Public Relations companies in Los Angeles. It was at Starworks where she dressed some of the biggest celebrities for red carpet events and premiers.
Clients love working with Kristin because she helps them understand how to accentuate their best features and teaches them how to dress for their shape, size and lifestyle. Business casual, classic, formal, alternative or cutting-edge; whatever the style, she can create it! After shopping with Kristin you will realize dressing fashionably for your body type can be effortless. She is passionate about helping her clients achieve their goals and the best part of her job - she loves to see the transformation in a client’s confidence!

Natalie // Stylist, Hair Stylist, & Makeup Artist
Natalie is our triple threat stylist in Los Angeles. Oh, if we could all be so talented. Not only does she have flawless style herself, she encouragingly and skillfully passes her style knowledge to our clients. She has dressed clients for everyday wear to Hollywood red carpet events.
When it comes to hair, however, she is pure genius. Our clients say that she is focused and meticulous and gives the most thorough haircut they've ever had. She's the sole hairstylist for Michelle, as well. She has been a licensed professional for ten years now. Her ultimate goal and passion is to make people feel their absolute best.
She has always worked in high-end salons as she developed in her hair profession. From South Bend, Indiana to Chicago to Los Angeles. In LA, she sought even more skill development by attending the renowned Cinema Makeup School in the High Fashion Course. Natalie's talents and great care for people also landed her as an educator for Sebastian & Wella Haircare Professionals where she has been teaching other artists new collections for the last five years. On top of that, she works backstage for runway shows, hair events, and red carpet events.
Melynda brings unique vision and expertise to each of our clients. Having worked on music videos, feature films, ad campaigns, and red carpets also gives her an edge many stylists don't have.

Melynda has mad skills in all areas of image, styling, and fashion. A commercial stylist as well as a personal stylist, her years of experience allows her to hone in precisely to the unique and individual needs of each of our clients.
Originally from the Bay Area, Melynda got her official start in fashion styling at the age of 15 while living in San Diego.
As a child, she would sit for hours sketching outfits and making cartoon drawings of women in different designs.
In high school, she joined a (now-defunct) youth internship program called "The Retail Project" where she was able to dress fashion shows for Nikita, Doc Martens, Quicksilver, and many other early streetwear brands of the time.
Melynda with Jeannie Mai, fashion expert, actress, TV personality, and famously known as the host of the Style Network
Since then, Melynda has managed and worked as a buyer for multiple resale retail stores. She's worked and traveled as a sales rep in fashion wholesale and she's been a store owner herself.
Melynda has styled music videos, feature films, ad campaigns, red carpets, and worked with Kathy Ireland, Lane Garrison, Aisha Tyler, Rebecca Da Costa, Chad Coleman, Akon, Mali Music, Megadeth, and many more. Her work has been featured in "Extra!", "BET", Refinery29.com, Maxim.com, Shoptiques.com, Playboy Magazine, SOMA Magazine, and Like a Lion Magazine.
Sandi // Stylist
Sandi gets some big time love! Clients who work with her can't say enough beautiful things about her. She has a kindness and care for each client she works with, she truly embodies the "Shopping FRIEND" ideals to the tee. It doesn't hurt either that she has rocking skills in completely understanding the personal image goals of each of her clients and successfully creating personalized style systems that work for each and every one of them.
Sandi is a lover of all things 'pretty,' and knows how pretty (or handsome) within your image presentation can make the pivotal difference in an individual's career, social life, confidence, and attitude.
She has a certification in Image Consulting and started her career as one of the forefront Virtual Wardrobe Consultants and bloggers for StyleSetGo. She then joined forces with the menswear company, Trumaker, as one of the original Outfitters in Denver, Colorado.
Sandi is a style and image force! Her talent can achieve flattering and complimentary looks for you no matter what your body type is or if it's for personal or professional areas of your life.
Sandi's grassroots passion for styling was born during her time in retail management, where she offered customers advice on how to style their body type, mix and match pieces for ultimate wardrobe versatility, and create a voice with the clothing they wore.

Tricia // Stylist & Interior Designer
If you're looking for a style ninja with a warm, caring personality, Tricia's your girl. She studied Visual Communications at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and has a BA in Psychology - an amazing intellectual and talent combo for a personal stylist to have. Our hard-working working girl started off in retail sales during college and as she moved up into retail management she discovered she had a great passion for styling people.
Her ability to improve someone's self image with just a little friendly coaching support and style advice brings her joy and amazing job satisfaction. She loves to help clients dress for their specific body type, create personal style look book guides, and mix and match new and existing pieces of clients' wardrobes to create image versatility and ensure a true reflection of who they are.
She's a firm believer that when your internal feelings are authentically and attractively expressed through your image, you will not only look good but feel good. She stresses the importance of surrounding yourself in a comfortable and creative environment. Your closet and home should be a relaxing place to collect yourself! Jackie is a powerhouse stylist and clients have nothing but raving reviews for her. Our highly experienced lady has 11 years experience as a professional fashion stylist and personal shopper. She began styling in 2005 working with celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Melanie B "Scary Spice" and styling for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in LA and NYC.
Her greatest joy, however, is helping all women and men of all shapes and sizes feel truly confident in their image and wardrobe. Jackie has specialized training in body image and uses these tools to help clients of all shapes, ages and sizes feel amazing in their own skin everyday.
She believes everyone deserves to feel confident and love the way they look. Through her kind, encouraging and fun approach to personal style and fashion she has been able to help hundreds do so.
Her styling work has led to impressive collaborations with brands like Nike, NFL, NHL, Google, L'oreal, the Miss USA pageant, and several charities she gives back to as well.
